The Mercer County Department of Human Services, Office on Homeless Services, is accepting proposals for Domestic Violence Shelter Services and Homelessness Prevention/Emergency Assistance Services for the period of January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023.

Funding will be made available in the following service categories:

  1. Domestic Violence Shelter Services – Social Services for the Homeless (SSH) Funds
  2. Homelessness Prevention/Emergency Assistance Services – Social Services for the Homeless (SSH) Funds

These funds are for activities that support:

  • A transitional housing, emergency services, and counseling and support services program for Mercer County homeless families who are victims of domestic violence in the amount of $106,300 in Social Services for the Homeless (SSH) dollars for the 12-month period with the possibility of additional funding due to a State rate increase.
  • Two (2) programs that will provide one-time assistance to Mercer County individuals and families in need due to a housing crisis. Emergency assistance measures may include assistance with past due rent or past due mortgage payments, past due utility charge payments, payment of security deposits for apartments and other forms of eligible assistance that will resolve the emergency or enable the families/individuals to remain in their homes in the amount of $180,300 Social Services for the Homeless (SSH) Dollars and $131,600 SSH- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds for the 12-month period.
