The Mercer County Department of Human Services, Office on Aging/ADRC – The Nutrition Program for Older Adults, is accepting proposals for Registered Dietitian Services- Menu Planning and Analysis, Nutrition Education, and Nutrition Counseling, for the period of January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025, in the amount of $121,600.00 ($60,800.00 County and Federal Title IIIC1 Funds per year).

Services will be provided up to 150 hours per quarter and cover menu planning/analysis, nutrition education, and nutrition counseling. Proposals should be prepared to include all three services.

The provider will:

  • Plan and analyze nutritionally adequate menus which assure, at minimum, one-third Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) to older persons, daily for five days per week.
  • Promote better health through the provision of accurate and culturally sensitive nutritional and health related information for program participants in a group setting.
  • Provide advice and guidance about options for improving the nutritional status for those program participants who are at high nutritional risk, because of their health or nutritional history, dietary intake, medication use, or chronic illnesses
