The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate a sole source, Fixed Price contract to Jonathan Engineered Solutions (CAGE 05236) in Irvine, CA for the procurement of 106 enclosed ball bearing aluminum slides (P/N 12070209-P) for the new ETI system.

The slides cannot use non-enclosed ball bearings in the design because the ball bearings are a FOD risk. Jonathan Engineered Solutions manufactures and customizes enclosed ball bearing slides. The owner of the Technical Data Package (TDP) for these computer slides is Jonathan Engineered Solutions. Jonathan Engineered Solutions is the only entity to manufacture and distribute these items.

The Government intends to procure the above items under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Jonathan Engineered Solutions is the exclusive data right holder for this proprietary system and only authorized vendor.

This notification is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
