Description of Work: This is an Industry Day conference and is for information purposes only.

Industry Day and Site Visit Notice: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, will host a industry day/ conference and site visit for all interested contractors for the planned beach nourishment of Oakwood Beach, located in Elsinboro Township, Salem County, New Jersey. The project will consist of placing up to approximately 55,000 cubic yards of sand at various locations along a 9,500-foot stretch of shoreline of the Delaware River, with the objective of restoring the beach to 50-feet wide at Elevation +6.0 feet NAVD88. The project will also include replacement of sand fence, debris removal, and restoration of a parking area. Suitable sand, as specified, will be provided by the contractor, and may be delivered and placed via truck or placed hydraulically from barges/scows in the Delaware River. Dredging of sand from an offshore borrow area will not be allowed. The purpose of the conference is to discuss the scope of the planned project and to seek industry’s interest in the project and familiarize interested bidders in the project and surrounding community. Topics of discussion will include, but will not be limited to: project location, available survey data, project schedule, environmental windows, and any work restrictions.

The conference will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Elsinboro Fire Co., located at 35 Delaware Avenue, Salem, NJ 08079. The conference will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the site visit will commence immediately following the conference. Attendees must provide their own transportation. Interested parties must pre-register by submitting their name, company affiliation, and email address to Mr. Fred Conway at Frederick.Conway@usace.army.mil. The registration deadline is Monday, March 6, 2023, by 12:00 pm EST.

The purpose and focus of the event will be to seek construction industry input and their questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the project.

This is a non-fee event and seating is limited. The Government will not be conducting one-on one discussions related to any potential contract or ongoing work under contract during this event. This announcement is not a contract solicitation, request for proposal of any sort, a promise to issue any future contract, a forum to discuss upcoming work (other than for the Oakwood Beach, Salem County, New Jersey), or a commitment to offer work of any kind on the part of the Government. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts.
