Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a Department of Energy (DOE) funded National Laboratory, established in 1951, with the primary mission of developing and advancing fusion energy and plasma physics technology. It is located at the Forrestal Campus of Princeton University on Route 1 in Plainsboro, New Jersey.
Currently, PPPL is implementing a new ERP system (Oracle Cloud). Oracle Cloud will replace Microsoft Great Plains as the business system for the Laboratory, supporting accounting, purchasing, project budgeting and costing, and material management. The new system and will support Business Operations and other Laboratory management systems and will go live on October 1, 2023. Oracle Cloud will interface with other systems including the Princeton University financial and human resources systems and the Concur travel system.
The objective is to obtain instructional design expertise services to create training materials. These materials will provide relevant information to PPPL employees who will be trained on Oracle Cloud and the new business processes. The instructional designer will support the team in guiding and prioritizing key training and learning activities.
The project team created a training strategy that includes the following key training activities:
● Train-the-trainer program
● Training user acceptance test (UAT) participants
● Training parallel test participants
● Training end users for go-live
● On-demand end user training after go-live
Training materials will need to be created for these activities. One of the core responsibilities is to provide high-quality, timely and efficient services to address the key training activities. An instructional design firm will provide instructional design and training development resources who will create the training materials, facilitate the delivery of some of the training, and maintain the materials.
